As we start our push through October, it is time to give everyone an update on vUSCI.
- 1,012 Flights
- 3,614 Hours
- 271 Active Pilots
- 28 New Pilots
Given that September is the transition between summer and fall, these numbers are great! Not to mention that 28 new pilots are the highest we have had all year long.
During September, we had two large ongoing events. One is a hub competition that pitted each hub’s finest against each other; the other being a screenshot competition. In addition to these more significant events, we also had some smaller ones put together by some excellent staff members.
Royal Reynolds put together an event called “Fly the Heavies.” Everyone who attended had the opportunity to fly heavy aircraft in the Caribbean. Taking off from Princess Juliana International Airport and making a quick stop in Sangster before heading off to the final destination of Nassau! There were some awesome screenshots taken and posted on CCS, so be sure to go check them out!
NFL group flights also began. Each week members voted on an NFL team they wanted to fly to their away game. One was selected, and everyone got the chance to charter a team! This is still an ongoing weekly event, with this week’s flight taking the Titans from KBNA to KBUF to take on the Buffalo Bills. Check CCS for all of the latest details.
Our last event during September was Mile High Bombardment. Pilots had the choice to either fly from Chicago or Houston to Denver. Congratulations to Giovanni and Christian for winning a Flightbeam scenery of their choice!
After a month-long battle, Denver came out on top with an average of 20.1 hours per pilot! Here are the final standings:
- Denver 20.1 Avg. Hours
- Chicago 15.6 Avg. Hours
- Houston 13.7 Avg.Hours
- San Francisco 12.7 Avg. Hours
- Washington 12.3 Avg. Hours
- Newark 10.4 Avg. Hours
- Los Angeles 7 Avg. Hours
All Denver pilots will receive a Flight Pass. This is a one time pass that will allow them to either waive their monthly flight requirement or to approve one previously rejected flight report. Congratulations again to Denver!
September Screenshot Contest
Congratulations to Sammy Holmes for his screenshot being voted as the best of the month by our members!
October’s destination of the month is Boston Logan International Airport. Boston operates on a 1,700-acre land area, making it the second smallest footprint amongst the 20 major U.S. airports. With nearly 40 airlines serving over 100 domestic and international destinations, Boston will get you where you need to go. Want to help us select the next Destination of the Month (DOM)? Please email us at [email protected] for suggestions.
Our Special Operations Manager Royal Reynolds has also put together a tour for everyone entitled “Appalachian Range.” You will be able to enjoy the view from Newfoundland and Labrador, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Québec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama. Visit CCS for all of the details
As with September, there will be smaller group flights and events! Make sure to check CCS, Discord, and Facebook for all of the latest news!
This about sums it up for the September update. We can’t wait to see what October has in store!
